light as you are

What are the necessary light conditions / stimuli to create an immersive experience?
What's the role of video as a source of light and movement?
What happens if, for instance the screens become part of the environment and we can not only interact with them but also walk through them? (fog-screen above)

By means of human performance it's possible as well to solidify light into space
long exposure shots in real time transform the ephemeral nature of light into a remanent of an action, into a memory of a body in time.

LAPP / light art performance photography

light also can use the space, triggered by other human's movement creating a Matrix as in the work of Edwin Redl, flirting with VR.

to Illuminate the space, as sound does in Aural Architecture

what is not immersive (site & time-specific)

In the context of this investigation it's not immersive:

home theaters
360 panoramas
smart houses
Virtual Reality
Gaming

Instead we (I) understand immersive as in >
real and physical, quotidian and performatic experience of altered mind states, depending on the environment and the levels of interaction that the people is able to establish, bridge, expand, dialogue.

Instead of envisioning within the Machine like in Minority Report,

I prefer to think about Brazil, maybe
Blade Runner, certainly
Where People still sweat:

A more extreme 80's version would be something like
Running Man

genetics, sound & the senses

how does a _sound web_ trigger physical reactions
the body is being performed by sound itself, as an environment.
physical organic space inside the human, in this case another human and so on.
if this supposed to happen to the 'audience'
what happens within the performer?

There are immersive environments that invite us to lay down, relax by providing pleasant and comfortable devices as carpets or beds, something that makes us feel at home, somehow in an intimate environment, or at least a very personal reference to our daily life. While we lay down, alone or with more people, we have for a second the feeling of comfort, refugee, placenta, the gezelligheid from the Dutch, the coziness of the English.

It moves as it feels, and it feels itself moving

Pure sound and nothing but sound, coming from over xx speakers. In the Murder of Crows a dream-like narrative guided by a woman's voice. The speakers are on the chairs.
What's the treshold between the environment and the people's body?
Reminds me of Groupe de Recherches Musicales ad their Acusmonium (Paradiso / Sonic Acts XII)

BodyLounge, performance in which the audience is blind-folded and individualized and you're taken into an intense journey of inner visions and the memory of the senses.

the Context if you want, a point is space and time, ephemeral, that involves and envelopes the physical, mental & emotional.

' When I think of my body, and ask what it does to earn that name, two things stand out. It
moves. It feels. In fact, it does both at the same time. It moves as it feels, and it feels itself
moving. Can we think a body without this: an intrinsic connection between movement and
sensation, whereby each immediately summons the other?
If you start from an intrinsic connection between movement and sensation the slightest,
most literal displacement convokes a qualitative difference, because as directly as it conducts
itself it beckons a feeling, and feelings have a way of folding into each other, resonating
together, interfering with each other, mutually intensifying, all in unquantifiable ways apt to
unfold again in action, often unpredictably. Qualitative difference: the issue, immediately, is
change. Felt and unforeseen. '
